Bard's Cathedral is a home-based audio recording and CD/DVD production business located in beautiful West Seattle Washington hard by a verdant glen with a seasonal creek. Besides folks of multiferous ethnic origins from Somalis to Samoans, our neighbors include innumerable birds, coons, squirrels, possums, and even the occasional urban coyote.

Since 1989, we've strived to offer friendly, competent and competitively priced services for the acoustic and specialty markets, serving singer songwriters, solo and duo performers, spoken word artists and others. As musicians ourselves, our goal is to treat our customers as we would want to be treated.

Our studio centers around an Intel MacBook Pro running Digital Performer, preamps by Presonus and ART, and microphones by AKG, Shure, Audio-Technica and Crown. Our electronic production facility includes Emu, Roland and Alesis synths, Roland and M-Audio controllers plus Ableton Live, Reason and other applications.

Thaddeus Spae, owner and operator of Bard's Cathedral, is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, composer, essayist, graphic designer, audio engineer/producer, handyman and shade tree mechanic. He attended Reed College and The Evergreen State College and earned a BA in electronic music in 1974. His compositions have been featured on National Public Radio, Showtime cable television and Broadway, choreographed by the Paul Taylor Dance Troupe and recorded for broadcast by the BBC. Thaddeus has appeared with Baby Gramps, the Flying Karamazov Brothers, Artis the Spoonman and other New Vaudeville entertainers and for 30 years he performed with his wife Sandahbeth in the legendary folk duo Amber Tide.
